Jacob Brier is a fifth generation Rhode Islander. Having grown up in Pawtucket and Providence, Jacob moved to Barrington in 2015 with his wife, Dani Sahner Brier, and their son, Soren. He earned his Master's in Business Administration at Johnson & Wales University, from which he also graduated magna cum laude with a BS in Marketing. His continuing education includes a graduate certificate in finance from Cornell University, learning and employing Lean Startup methodology, and a variety of workshops in performance tracking, human resources, leadership, and goal setting.
Jacob is passionate about helping his community by leveraging his critical thinking and strategic problem solving skills.
Jacob is the Operations Director at MojoTech, a Providence-based software agency. In his role, Jacob is responsible for the company's business operations, including finances, human resources, and strategic projects to ensure the company's growth is achieved with sound fiscal decisions.
Jacob’s career highlights at MojoTech include:
Development and ongoing maintenance of company budget, financial modeling, and performance forecasting dashboards
Designing and implementing a Paid Family Leave policy, covering maternity/paternity leave, extended sick time, or time spent caring for a sick family member
Overseeing company expansions, locally and in new regions throughout the country
Established the company's diversity and inclusion work group
Prior to joining MojoTech, Jacob’s career included launching a marketing and business strategy consulting company, fundraising for nonprofit organizations, community organizing, shipping and receiving for a local toy manufacturer, and waiting tables. This broad experience allows Jacob to view situations and analyze interactions from many perspectives, often being able to place himself on both sides of an issue to quickly find common ground.
Jacob’s efforts to improve his community began with volunteerism starting at age 13, working at an after-school daycare program. From there, his efforts grew to significant heights in adulthood. At the age of 27, he and his wife co-founded LIFEcycle, Inc, a RI nonprofit that has raised nearly $700,000 for local cancer treatment. In addition to his work with LIFEcycle, Jacob serves on the Business Advisory Council for the state's CS4RI program, is a Governor of The Miriam Hospital Foundation, serves on the Program Committee for Leadership Rhode Island’s 2018 Core Program, and in August was appointed by Governor Raimondo to the HeathSource RI Advisory Board.
Jacob’s honors, awards and Memberships include:

So, you can be sure he'll get rave reviews from that kid if he is elected to serve on our Town Council.
